Woodside Energy Limited (WEL) has been investigating the use of various innovative coating products and the use of fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) components as a way to mitigate corrosion and extend life on its facilities. Woodside engaged Alliance Engineering Consultants (AEC) to perform engineering studies and detailed design of FRP frames to be used on the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) for long term exposure monitoring of coatings on carbon steel coupons and also the environmental effects on the FRP framing and materials.
